How do you pack for a six month mission trip? Answer is, I had no idea, I questioned if I was over-packing or under-packing. I had to consider what was a necessity and what was a want . Thankfully, I had some friends help me through this process, so shout out to them!
After finishing my first week here in Mexico there are already things that I know I won’t need and there are also things that I wish I packed, and that’s ok! I am trying to adjust to not having everything readily available to me like back home in the states, but Mazatlán is a big city and there is nothing that I need that I can’t somehow get.
Some things I wish I had packed:
- Thermos for coffee- coffee is a must in Mexico!
- My hammock- there is a dedicated spot for hammocks and it’s a great space to have some quiet time
- Pencils- somehow I only brought 2 pens, haha!
After listing all the things that I wish I had packed I want to end saying how grateful I am to be here and this is just for fun so everyone back home can get a glimpse of my life here. At the end of the day, these are just things and they are actually getting sent to me (yay!). Honestly, for a serial over-packer I’m pretty proud that I only forgot a couple things and didn’t bring much that I haven’t already used.
I am so blessed to be able to be here and I want to thank everyone who has supported me emotionally, financially, and most importantly praying for me! Mexico has been treating me well and I am so excited to see what’s to come in the next 6 months.
Con amor,
Bella
